Hope you all enjoyed my “Primark AW16 MW & WW collection” post yesterday! If you didn’t see it you can check it out here! I am finishing off the post showing you the new homeware & kids. For anyone who knows me, they know I love my homeware just as much as I love fashion. So seeing the new homeware launch is a really exciting part for me, one of my favourites. There are so many gorgeous bits some in store currently. I always pick up bits from Primark Home and I already know what I am getting from their new collection. (I seriously have a problem) 😍😂
Check it out below;
Primark AW16 Homeware Collection
Primark Home hits back at the amazing homeware section this year, keeping up with the trends. The Autumn/Winter 16 season with its back to college Scandi Cool story. “Inspired by the aesthetic of Scandinavian, the clean, contemporary range is full of geometric grid prints and colour blocking. Lifestyle accessories in marble effects and mismatched pastel patterns add texture to the aesthetic. Minimal brights are thrown into the mix for a playful highlight giving the range a fresh, youthful look.”
Monochrome is filled with a stripped back tonal collection of graphic wovens and prints. Abstract patterns move towards folkloric designs as the season develops. Soft acid colours across trims and accessories add dimension and texture to the trend.
Hazy Havana is the autumn story. Referencing both old Hollywood and the Havana glamour of the 1920’s. Fabrics are feminine with plush velvets and decorative beading coming together to form prints and motifs of gone eras.
Winterfolk introduces a depth of colour and texture to the range. Depth is shown by layering and being inspired by the nomadic traveler this collection focuses on “gypset style.” Elements of African and traditional animal prints are spotted with elephants and giraffes taking centre stage. A wanderlust palette of warm, autumnal rusts, shadow blues, and sandy tones carries this story through the season. There is earthy materials present of wood, stone, and brushed copper solidifying the story.
I love the marble and copper candles and I can already see where about’s in my house I am going to put them! The mini pineapple light is so cute – I can see them flying out of shelves instantly. The flamingo is a lovely piece of decoration and their new candles have such a strong scent. New notebooks and storage space – I am seriously impressed with what I saw.
Primark AW16 Kidswear Collection
For all the mini superheroes ready to take on the world. This autumn “the Primark kid’s collection is strong on punchy conversational prints, textured fabrications, and fun designs with quality and affordable pricing significant throughout all trends.”
Schoolyard Superheroes is the foremost trend hitting stores just before back to school season. It was born from the concept that every boy and girl can be their own hero, Primark encourages kids to be confident. This trend is edgy, urban and full of fun slogans on tees and jumpers. Full up with space prints and cheeky comic book graphics. The palette is mainly black, white and navy in colour yet it is accented with bright print explosions containing vibrancy and newness. All of the traditional ‘back to school’ essentials are available in store yet the quirky accessories, the use of holographic fabrics, applique badges, googly eyes and sequins all bring the fun element. Graffiti prints, lightning bolts and sketched stars add to the cool kid vibe while high-tops, slogan beanies and panelled colour-block backpacks tie this individual trend together and enhance the fact that that you should ‘be yourself- as everyone else is taken’.
The Wonder Years has a distinctive 70’s aesthetic. Lettering on bomber jackets and strong colour blocking in rich colours of navy, mustard and red appear giving an overall sporty feel. Simple collection including A-line skirts, retro button-down cotton shirts, checks, prints and raglan tees enhance this look but are layered in a clean cut style. Accessories once again reiterate the collegiate vibe and come in the form of brogues, leather satchels, and berets with quirky ear details. Badges and check bows are used to create a slight preppy reference.
Western Folk is a 70s western theme with an adventurous spirit that gives parents plenty of pieces to choose from. For the girls is the ethnic feel with boho layering and floral prints. For the boys, it’s all about the lumberjack flannel check and wild prints that are key for outdoor exploration. Knitwear is essential with fringing, pom-poms and tapestry details giving a homespun crafty feel. Finish the look off with booties, jacquards scarves, fringed bags and knitted bobble hats.
Dark Wilderness is an adventurous story inspired by the cold, frosty winters in the Scandi countryside. For girls, the look is all about layering cosy textured knits over vintage like fabrics and dusky dark floral prints. For boys, we see fur trims on classic flannel shirts for any outdoor adventure. Woodland animal prints are seen throughout for both boys and girls that are perfect for lounging in a log cabin away from the cold, winter snow.
The little children’s clothes are so adorable and if I had my own children I can assure you they would be wearing the adorable little summery outfits! My favourite out of the collection is definitely the boys denim jacket with the fur and the girls blue runners with emoji’s on each side. I wish I was that stylish when I was a child. The layout was clean & crisp and the lighting really drew you into what was on the shelves. Thank you Primark for the amazing day! Looking forward to seeing all this on the shop floor in the coming months and I’m already excited to see what’s coming next!
